Some businesses going strong

The economy continues to be stuck on standby. But there are companies who do good - even increasing.

Intermountain Management LLC has broken new ground last week on its TownePlace Suites Marriott Larkspur Lane in Redding.

This is the second hotel developer Monroe, La., will build in Redding. The first, Hampton Inn & Suites is part of Larkspur and opened in March 2006.

"As far as Redding and the market outlook, we look at a slight growth in 2012," said Edmunds by email. "It's a growing market and shows no signs of decline now."

"It's very good because we are in a terrible economy," Bob Warren of the Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association said.
