Google Plus + the black navigation bar: A big hit?
According to a blog post of Google, the goal of the new Google search engine design is to give the customers a “more seamless and consistent online experience—one that works no matter which Google product you’re using or what device you’re using it on.”
Apparently, not all Googlers are happy with the black Google navigation bar with some campaigning to boycott the search engine (but can they? LOL), but it’s still too early to say if these minority crying foul cannot adopt a darker Google bar in the near future. Knowing Google and its powerful search engine, customers will definitely stay because Bing and Yahoo are still struggling to get more high-quality site indexes, especially in their site’s news tab.
And aside from the inclusion of the Google Plus social networking tab, Google also claims that the new search engine design is related to the company’s “design philosophy” that combines power and simplicity.
Google explained, “we want to keep our look simple and clean, but behind the seemingly simple design, use new technologies like HTML5, WebGL and the latest, fastest browsers to make sure you have all the power of the web behind you.”
Honestly, I’m starting to love the red and black combination in the search results page of Google because I think my eyes love something new, packed with minimalistic look and feel. I’m also tired of seeing the blue color in the left side of Google. Plus, the black navigation bar is also better because it contrasts the grayish bar holding the Google logo and the search bar.
Speaking of Google+, our team of researchers are still waiting for their invites. “Us” is only a fraction of thousands of Google fans that are also posting their messages in Twitter and other social networking sites, asking for their own invites. But according to Google’s Senior Vice-President of Social Vic Gundotra, the delivery of more Google+ invites was halted due to high demand. He said in a public Google+ post, “we’ve shut down invite mechanism for the night. Insane demand. We need to do this carefully, and in a controlled way. Thank you all for your interest!”
He also added some interesting information that will surely give Facebook a little pressure. He said, “for any who wish to leave, please remember you can always exit and take your data with you by using Google Takeout. It’s your data, your relationships, your identity.” Ouch?
